FeNO

FeNO (Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide) in exhaled air from humans is a well established measure of the eosinophilic inflammation in asthma. It is very sensitive to disease activity and has been suggested for titrating treatment with inhaled corticosteroid. Methods for measurements of FeNO are well standardized, reference values available for school children [1] and commercially available equipment approved for clinical use in the USA and Europe.
